The Spokane Assisted Living Community project consists of developing a six-story, 111,000 square-foot senior living building with 157 assisted living and memory care units. Site improvements include a parking lot, pedestrian paths and gathering spaces, a stormwater management system, a sewer lift station and force main, and a water main extension with services. The project site is located in Spokane, Washington on a parcel that is part of a Binding Site Plan. Baker Construction served as the general contractor and Blue Architecture served as the architect.

Sanitary sewer infrastructure was not readily available at the project parcel. Ethos Civil determined that the adjacent private development contained a private sewer main, but the sewer main was located at an elevation that was higher than the proposed on-site development. Ethos Civil coordinated with the adjacent parcel owner and designed an on-site sanitary sewer lift station and force main that connected to the sewer main on the adjacent parcel. The solution provided sanitary sewer service that made the project viable. It also avoided the need for a long, off-site gravity sewer main extension that would have been an added cost to the client.
