This outpatient therapy center will be a new 16,000 square-foot building for Multicare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. The facility is located adjacent to Allenmore Hospital and will provide comprehensive outpatient care including speech, occupational, physical, and feeding therapies, as well as audiology, adaptive technologies, and in-house orthotics and prosthetics. Rush Development is the developer and building owner, and the architect is Ferguson Architecture.
The project site involved many permitting complexities which caused the site to sit vacant for many years. Ethos Civil worked with Rush Development to resolve permitting challenges with stormwater, traffic, and sewer. The stormwater design was carefully coordinated with City of Tacoma to reduce its size while still providing appropriate downstream infrastructure protection.
The final site design provides appropriate parking for the therapy center, while also accommodating pedestrian and ADA access. The frontage improvements on 19th Street are designed to accommodate the future expansion of the Link Light Rail Line along the 19th Street corridor.
The project is currently under construction and is expected to open in late 2026.
